With the rapid development in the Computers and Software technology, Computer education has become a need of hour. Computers are the backbone of today's era. Computer education is an opportunity provided to the youth to stand against all odds and evens. We all know that in today's world computer can walk, talk and even replace a man. Computers Science and Engineering department with state of the art laboratories, well qualified and experienced faculties and staff members develop students and make them equipped with the armors to enter into competitive world of the software industry.

Mission

To encourage students to become self motivated,problem solving individuals by imparting quality Computer Science and Engineering education.

To pursue creative research for creating innovative,entrepreneur,ethical technocrats to serve for societal needs and suitable for global environment.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

1. Graduates will posses the ability to think logically and have capacity to understand technical problems and to design optimal solutions for a succesful career in industry, academia and research.

2. Graduates will have the ability to work as a team and will be able to promote the design and implementation of products and services with an understanding of its impact on economical, environmental, ethical and societal considerations through their strong interpersonal skills, leadership quality and entrepreneurial skills.

3. Graduates will have foundation in mathematical, scientific and computer science and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, analyze and solve engineering problems.

Computer Lab and Softwares

PIGCE has vast IT infrastructure with Software and Hardware Labs. The department has its own 5 Computer Labs with specialized software of relevance. They are:-

Classrooms

Class rooms are spacious, well- ventilated with natural light and adequate electrical facilities. Ergonomically designed furniture , teaching aids like LCD are used in teaching - learning process. The spirit of classroom training encompasses the fundamentals of theoretical and conceptual learning through interactive sessions of case studies, assignments, quizzes and presentation by students.

Finishing Classes

At PIGCE we expect high level of politeness, decorum and personal presentation at all times. Our students are engaged with experts to learn the art of etiquette. The emphasis is on total personality development, social etiquette, confidence building, body language and accent training. External Agencies are hired to inculcate all these skill among students of our college.

Industry Institute Interaction

It is aim to develop the engineering students ready for industry needs by providing Industrial Training. Industrial visits are a must to relate the theory into practice, industrial visits are organized on regular basis. Industry persons having industrial experience are invited for expert lectures in various fields .Recently Mr.Arvind Kumar from TCS,Mihan delivered expert lecture for third year and final year students.

Canteen

The campus has canteen facilities to cater for the taste buds of various regions beside regular mess facility.

Bank, ATM

Allahabad Bank and ATM are available very near to college premises.

Cultural and Co-curricular Activities

We like our students to the modern and be proud of our cultural heritage and inculcate in them a strong value system based on mutual respect of other cultures and traditions, thus we celebrate traditional day, various festivals and annual gathering every year. Beside this students organizes various programmes like fresher’s welcome, fare well to outgoing graduating batch etc .regularly which add colors in the campus. Workshop, Conferences, Project Exhibition for students, Students level paper presentation, STTP, Expert Lectures etc. are regularly organized.

Placement

PIGCE has a full fledged training and placement cell which handles the training need of both students and staff . Placements of students are organized mostly through incampus interviews and 100% placement assistance is provided for off - Campus Interview.

Seminar Hall

Separate Seminar hall is there in the department of 150 capacities.

Parent Meet

Parents meet is regular feature which provide interaction between parents and faculty to give them awareness of students activities face to face.

Alumni Meet

Alumni meet is also an annual event. It is encouraging to listen to our ex students as to how they look back to their Alma-mater. What was missing and what can be done by both the college and the alumni is discussed.

College Magazine & Wall Magazine

To encourage original thought & expression among students and to make them aware of the recent events of the outside world, the College publishes a printed magazine of its own every year. Also there is provision for wall magazine published by the students.

Co and Extra Curricular Activities

It covers Inter & Intra-College competitions in Debate, Drama, Elocution, Music, Drawing, Short story, College social, Freshers' Welcome and Farewell Programme are held regularly. Extens!on programmes like environmental awareness, medical camp, blood donation camp are taken care of every year.

Games and Sports

It opens scope to express the students' ability in sports. Students take part in various Inter-College competitions.

Students' Association

Every year several students are selected as class representatives. All class representatives together form the students' association. Students' views are expressed through this platform and it works in unison with the teaching and non-teaching staff.

Yoga Centre

In order to train the students in Yoga & Gymnastics, the College has a centre with trained instructor.

Academic Tour

Academic tours are arranged by several depatrments as part of their education.

Library

The College has a well equipped computerised library consisting of more than 26,000 books covering all subjects, journals, periodicals, magazines and newspapers adequately meet the rewuirement of both students and teachers. Reading and borrowing facilities are provided by the college.

Book Rank

Book bank facilities are available to the students.

Departmental Library

Each Honours department possesses a seminar library to provide students with text and reference books in addition to the facility provided by the main library.

Aquaguard

Purified drinking water is supplied from aquaguard and water cooler with proper sanitation.

Students Forum

C O M E T

The Student forum

COMET is the Student forum of Computer Science & Engineering Department. Students elect President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer by voting. Various committees headed by students accompanied by Teacher In-charges are formed to organize different events. This forum helps students in overall development of personality. Event Calendar for events throughout the year is planned and events are organized under Cultural and technical categories accordingly.

The committees formed jointly with IT Forum-ZENITH to organize various events under University Level Symposium Tech SHINDIG. This time under Tech ShinDig6.0, competitions were for "CYGS"-Check your gaming skills (LAN games), NET-QUO (QUIZ), Panorama (Photography), AYE (Are you Employable), Treasure Hunt, C-coding, Business tycoon, RUNBOT, Race in Maze, Tech-Comm. Throughout the year different events are organized under Cultural and technical categories. Career Counselling, Technical and Soft Skill Development Workshops for students are also organized under this FORUM.

The installation of the students forum 2016, COMET and ZENITH was done on 30th July 2016 at 12 noon by the Department of Computer Science And Engineering and Information Technology.Principal Dr.R.V.Ksirsagar inuagurated the forum.Dr.R.S.Khokale, HOD, CSE/IT guided the students.Astt. Prof. Vaishnavi Ganesh, Forum Incharge briefed about various activities under the forum.Bhaskar Kumar, Forum CSE President and other Forum members took oath regarding maintainance of discipline in the college and in other activities and being responsible citizens of our nation.Mohammad Rampurwala and Vaishnavi Goel conducted the proceedings of the program.Asst Prof.Sudarshan Awale and Ashwini Bonde, Forum Co-incharges and staff worked hard for the success of the event.Dr. V.G.Kondekar, Dean Academics and other HODs were present.Hemant Sharma, Forum President IT proposed a vote of thanks.

Seminar was conducted by IT Networkz on "Emerging Trends in IT" for 3rd sem CSE students.It was conducted by Mr.Deepak Dhote, Operations Manager,IT Networkz. Students gained maximum knowledge from the seminar regarding various IT industry trends and current technologies which are in demand.

Invited Talk APTI

AN Aptitude Test was conducted by IT Networkz, under the MoU signed by Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi college of Engineering & IT Networkz Nagpur , for 7th semester CSE,EN,EC students on 19th july 2018.It was conducted by Mr.Deepak Dhote and his team. Those who cleared the aptitude test were asked to appear for the interview and total 3 PIGCE studetns got selected for free internship under IT Networkz. Offer letters for internship were given to them on the same day.
