Department of Electrical engineering was established in 2010 & is an integral part of LTJSS. The department offers the 4 year undergraduate degree program in Electrical engineering & is affiliated to RTMNU Nagpur. The annual intake of department is 60 students. The department has been constantly modernizing the infrastructure and laboratory facilities. The department is endowed with well equipped laboratories as required by curriculum of RTMNU Nagpur. The departmental library has enriched collection of reference books on various subjects written by eminent writers

Vision

To be a model of excellence in technical education and producing technical graduates, prepared for life-long engagement in the rapidly changing fields of electrical and related fields.

Mission

To impart quality education to our students and provide a comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering, built upon basic foundation of physical science, mathematics, computing and technology and to produce a new generation of Electrical Engineers to meet the future challenges.

Program Educational Objectives - PEO's

PEO-1 : Our graduates will be productive in the professional practice of engineering and related fields and will be able to identify, formulate, create, analyze, design, modeling, develop, optimize, and implement electrical systems.

PEO-2 : Our graduates will contribute to industry and/or government organizations by applying the skills and knowledge acquired during the program period.

PEO-3 : Our graduates shall be prepared for the successful pursuit of graduate studies and shall have the ability to engage in lifelong learning in electrical engineering and related fields and will understand the challenges of a dynamically and globalized changing world adapting their skills through continuous learning and self improvement.

PEO-4 : Our graduates will be provided with solid foundation in mathematical and engineering fundamentals required to solve engineering problems and also to pursue research within the appropriate technological, global, societal, ethical and organizational context.

PEO-5 : Our graduates will be able to inculcate a sense of ethics, professionalism and effective communication skills amongst graduates.

Program Outcomes - PO's

  • B.E program in Electrical Engineering has been designed to generate the following skills
  • 1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • 2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • 3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • 4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: 4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • 5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • 6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • 7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • 8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • 9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • 10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • 11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one's own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

    Achievements

    2nd Prize in Tech Fun Competition Under R & D

    R & D cell organized Tech Fun competition on college level for all the departments on dated 15/9/15. This competition based on technical skit which gives awareness to all. All the department of the PIGCE participated in this competition. Vth sem students of Electrical engineering won the 2nd prize in this competition. Students played this skit to give massage to switch off all the equipments before leaving. This was the achievement of the department. This kind of competition helps student to explore their skill.

    Book Written by Head of the Department

    Prof. U. B. Malkhandale, head of the department wrote book on control system. This book was based Nagpur university syllabus. This was great success of the department. All the students of VIth sem refer this text book for control system- II. This book is in question answer format so it helped students to understand control system more easily. All the faculty of electrical department heartily congratulates to the Prof. & Head of the department.

    Mansi Shukla Student of final year interviewed by Akashwani which was broadcast on 2 Octo 15 (Mahatma Gandhi) Ideologies and Todays Generation. She was also awarded as Orator of the month March-2015 by Oxfords Speaker Academy,Nagpur on Mind at Rests, Rust??

    Second Prize in National Level Project Competition

    VIIIth sem students made project under the guidance of Prof. & Head U. B. Malkhandale on titled Optimization of Energy by using smart Switch. They won second prize in national level project competition which was held in K.D.K. College on dated 26 Feb 2016. Principal, Dr. R. V. Kshirsagar sir congratulate the students and motivate them for their future growth.

    Students Achievements: Student of the Year 2016

    PIGCE nominated many students for student of the year Award-2K16.There were many competitions, organized by the college for this award. Students from various departments were nominated for this award. A criterion for this award was Academics, and other overall activities. Ms. Mansi Shukla of Final Year of Electrical Engineering Department was awarded STUDENT OF THE YEAR-2K16. This award was given by Dr.Elakshi Gupta (Mrs. Globe Runner Up 2015) & Dr. Satish Chaturvedi, Chairman LTJSS, Smt. Abha Chaturvedi Secretary LTJSS & Dr.R.V.Kshirsagar, Principal PIGCE, also congratulated her.

    Smart Solar Room: Designed by the students

    Student of final Year Made Solar Project on titled Power operated smart room??. Under the guidance of Prof. A. A. Deosant, In this project students illuminated HOD cabin. Students Installed Solar plate on the terrace and designed 12 plate of LAD panel. This cabin was totally illuminated by solar energy. Jeevan Kalekar, Pratik Kartar, Kulbhushan Meshram , Sharayu Rao, Pratiksha Kshirsagar Heena Adkine ,Suraj Kapte these are the students who made this project.

    Smart Solar Wireless Room: Designed by Students

    Final Year Students designed wireless control panel to operate solar LAD lights with the help of Bluetooth. Under the guidance of Prof. S.S. Bhole. Students of this project group are Chetan Maske, Atul Podey, Kunal Zade, Amol Choudhari. In this project students switch ON & Off the solar LAD Panel which was installed by the other project group in HoD cabin with the help of mobile.

    Locational Marginal Based Transmission Pricing in Restructure System: Designed by students

    Final Year Students Suraj Humane , Shubham Sahare, Bhushan Mahajan Kapil Ambadare, Akshay Moundekar ,Khilesh Yele made this project under the guidance of Prof. V.G. Umale, prototype model of this project installed in the HoD cabin
    In this project students calculate charges of 740kV line from node to node in MATLAB software. To display the data online students also installed digital screen in HOD cabin. This screen continuously showing data of this 740kV line
